<p>Hi, I am currently a college student seeking to transfer to Boston University. The deadline for applications and the CSS Profile is November 1st and I was only able to summit my CSS Profile in today. I was wondering how long it would take for the CSS to process and the school to receive my forms? I've looked at other forums and people suggest that the CSS should be filled and submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the due date. Will my application be penalized? </p>

<p>As I recall the Profile usually processes in about a week. You need to contact the college to see what they say about the impact of that timing.</p>

My current college student will enter her senior year 2013-2014. Her younger brother will enter his freshman year of college. Her shcool is requiring CSS this year. On the question about where a sibling will attend college next year – what’s the best way to answer. He’s admitted to his top two choices but one is instate public and other is out of stated public – large price diff. between the two. Should we just put in the more expensive shcool? He most likely won’t decide which school until the May deadline.</p>
<p>I would put in the more expensive one for now and update the Profile school on the actual college selected later. At least any potential aid for you will be carved out of their funds.</p>
