CSS Profile!!!!!

I have a two questions concerning the CSS Profile
On the section “Parents’ Expenses”
(I) Are gasoline fees included in utilities, household necessities, or auto maintenance?
(II) Where are we supposed to write our auto&health insurances?

Thank you

Gasoline fees?

@Madison85

Yes, the gasoline…to move our cars… whatever we call it!!

Auto and health insurance is not included on the Profile…or the FAFSA.

Is there a Parent’s Expense section? In the past three years that I have done the Profile, there was no expense reporting. Is this related to small business ownership or something?

They don’t care what you spend on gas…

I didn’t see a parent expense section when I filled it out this year…

Really? There’s this section where I have to fill out our health, vacation, entertainment, auto maintenance, rent, blah blah blah…
@musicmerit No, my family doesn’t own a business so it has nothing to do with that.

@thumper1 Okay! so I don’t report insurances, thank you.

Vacation and entertainment? So if your family takes expensive vacations and goes to lots of expensive concerts, please don’t think that this will increase your need based aid. It won’t.

My guess is that this is for informational purposes only, just like the question “how much will you be able to pay”.

These data points are not on the net price calculators.

Need based aid is primarily based on yoir income and assets. To be honest, your consumer spending habits, and debt really are not considered.

@thumper1 My family lives very frugally so won’t be a problem for us.

Thank you for helping me out!

Health insurance would go under health. Auto insurance and gas would go under auto maintenance.

@twoinanddone Thank you for the straightforward answer!!
