CSS profile

Your mortgage payment would be where you live…
the rental would be buisness income…I would think…

The CSS profile works now! Thank you so much for the answers, it helped a lot.

Good Luck…I hope you get what you want!!

thanks! oh and also I says that there might be an error on the question regarding federal tax liability, and it says line 55 on the 1040 form, but it says 0 so…

You know, joshjlee, if you’ve done your best answering the questions using your parents’ tax forms, then don’t worry about the error message. The colleges may well want copies of the tax forms (many do), and if so they will make any necessary corrections for you.

Make sure to find out what other documentation they may require so that your financial aid application is complete.

Good job. Those things are not easy to do… even for adults.

thanks I’m just glad I finished it. sigh now i have to wait and see how much aid I get

Ha Ha your back today!! Let us know how you do.
How could they expect these forms to be perfect.
You just do the best you can…

yup! glad im finished. Now I have a whole calendar filled scholarship deadlines for march and april.

MSU only requires the FAFSA I do believe so if you got that in recently you should be OK for MSU timing wise.

Don’t listen to that. You don’t want to drown in debt. The UW is a good school, I’m not sure it is worth going out of state to a similar large state university. I mean, Harvard, OK, but the education you’ll have available to you from a school like the University of Michigan isn’t much different from what you can get at the UW.

joshjlee – yes, it is really hard to fill out the CSS Profile. I don’t think they expect 100% accuracy, just do the best you can.

well I did some extensive research even talked to some people from UW and UM, the engineering program at UM is much stronger at UM than it is UW.

I am so relieved to see that I am not the only one just getting my CSS profile submitted. Long story short - I completely overlooked it but submitted FASFA on time. I contacted my D’s hopefuls, Duke & Vandy, and both responded quickly to say it was no big deal and would have no impact on the amount of financial aid she is awarded if accepted. They said the deadline is mainly so fin aid offers can be sent with admissions packets. Uchicago lists a May 3rd deadline so I didn’t contact them. Whew!

joshjlee – I don’t have a problem with you choosing the UM over the UW if the cost is not much different. Even if the cost is different if you can swing it then that is fine too. But sometimes finances force people to forgo their first choice in a school for something that is comparable and much cheaper.

I have a question. Is it required to fill out the CSS profile, even though you already applied for the FAFSA ?

three of the schools that i applied to have talked about this so called “css”
thank you

Kati10, check each college website carefully…some take only the FAFSA, some take FAFSA and CSS and some take FAFSA and their own form. You must check the websites for each college to determine what you need to fill out and where you need to send it and the date you must complete the form(s) by…

I am trying to finish up the Profile today. I really hate the Profile! Just saying …
