CSU Fresno and CalPoly SLO

My gpa is a 2.6(I was depressed for the first 2 years of high school) and my sat is 1680(old). Can I get into either with the Animal Science major? Thank you.

CSU Fresno admits by Eligibility index and major. What is your SAT breakdown and calculate your EI.

EI= (CSU GPA x800) + (SAT Math + CR).

What is your CSU/UC GPA? https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

SLO also considers 9th grades in their GPA calculation.

Average GPA: 3.90 Average SAT: 1261 (Math+CR)

Your GPA looks very low and Animal Science is an impacted major at both campuses meaning you need higher than average Stats to get into an impacted major.

Do you plan to retake the SAT? A higher score may help your chances at CSU Fresno but SLO is a Super Reach.

You need to find some other less competitive schools to apply or consider community college and then transfer to a CSU.

Good Luck and hope your health is better.

My EI is 3100 and my csu gpa is 2.96. Thank you so much for helping I’m so worried right now.

You might want to add Humboldt, San Francisco State and Sonoma state to your list. They offer Zoology and would be an easier admit.

There is no shame in attending a community college for 2 years and then transferring into a CSU of your choice if you are unable to get an acceptance. If you do well at a CC, a UC transfer is also possible.

Good Luck.

I don’t think 3100 will get you into Sonoma. I think Humboldt, Channel Islands and perhaps Monterey - though they just declared the school impacted so, it is hard to guess their threshold this year. .

Good Luck.

Guys I did some miscalculations and its actually 3,350…will that make a difference? I am also in service area.

3350 may get you into CSU Fresno if local, Humboldt/Monterey Bay/SFSU, possibly Sonoma but not into Cal Poly SLO and Cal Poly Pomona.

Apply widely so you do have some choices in the Spring.

3350 should be good for most programs at Sonoma, particularly as a local applicant. Most programs at Sac would also open up.

Good luck
