CSU Fullerton or CSU Long beach transfer for Spring 2015

Is anyone here currently applying for CSU fullerton OR CSU Long beach for spring 2015? I have a few questions! please reply. thank you in advance!

I just applied yesterday to both schools! let me know if I am of any help.

Hi there @ksantana1992! Im pretty much done with my application but I am super hesitant about submitting all of a sudden because I feel like my GPA isn’t high enough. :frowning: I calculated my transfer GPA without this upcoming fall semester (it hasn’t started yet) and I only have a 3.04. What was your gpa and do you think I should try applying anyways?

@krystalnguyen‌ my GPA isn’t too great either. I have a 2.7 without my fall classes included. it depends on your major. I went to my counselor and asked the same question. my major is child development and he said I should apply. I’ve read somewhere that if we do get denied they might give us a chance to improve our GPA for the next semester. I’m not too sure but I think you should apply! you’re better off than me lol what’s your major BTW and what school are you transferring from?

@ksantana1992‌ my major is health science and i know that i need at least a 3.0 but i know csu’s gpas are a minimum of a 2.0. My counselor also told me that fullerton raised their gpa for transfers but they weren’t sure what they raised it to :\ :frowning: thank you for the words of encouragement! another thing i was just worried about is that i’m transferring from miramar community college so it’s not in the area of where fullerton or long beach are so it might be a bit harder. where are you transferring from? hopefully with our fall classes, our gpa will go up even more!

Yeah, it’ll be A LOT harder for you guys to transfer to CSU Long Beach or CSU Fullerton because of the areas that you go to school in now. I tried to apply to CSU San Marcos but I lived in the LA area and it was hassle. If you can apply to CSU San Marcos. You’re in the area and you’ll be accepted before anyone else that doesn’t live in the area. Or you could apply to a school that accepts all areas of California.

Thank you for replying @smurray09‌! I already had a feeling it will definitely be a lot harder since I’m not from that area. That’s why I am now hesitant to even apply now with my gpa. I wanted to apply to CSULB and CSUF cause they had my major and they were already accepting for the spring and I wanted to be there already because I didn’t have any more classes to take if I were to be in community college for spring of 2015.
