I grew very unhappy with my marketing major at my CSU and did not do well. I lacked emotional maturity , however, I managed to pull through and will be graduating as a fifth year this upcoming spring. My true passion is in film and believe that a university with a great film program can give me the right set of tools I need to master my craft.
I know my potential and believe that with the right major I can excel.
Should I transfer to a CC and try to transfer to a UC? Or should I graduate from my CSU, go to CC for two years and then transfer to a school with a great film program such as UCLA or NYU? They are extremely competitive but is it realistic?
Is this even possible? Ive never heard of this. Will these schools look at my grades from my CSU, graduated or not?
How many units have you accumulated since most of the UC’s will not take high unit Junior and Senior level transfers?
I would finish your degree at the CSU and then into look into post graduation programs for your film aspirations, Sorry but I know little about film programs and what is available at the graduate level.
The thing is I do not think I have the grades for a grad school to accept me. That’s why I wanted to go to community college ones I graduate from CSU to make up my grades there and then transfer to a film program and go for a second degree.
The majority of UC’s do not consider applicants for a 2nd Bachelor’s degree especially UCLA only a few UC’s that do consider applicants, the majors are limited.

Dagger to the heart. I guess there’s really no way for me to pursue this career. What would you suggest is the path for me to enter into a UC? Or is this an “in another lifetime” situation.
Why a UC and depending upon how many units your currently have, there is little chance to get into a UC for Undergrad. What is your GPA for Graduate school?
Below are the Unit caps for the UC’s:
Berkeley: 90 semester/135 quarter units or more
Accepts some High Unit Juniors and Seniors
Davis: 80 semester/120 quarter units or more; Dean’s Review required

Irvine: 90 semester/135 quarter units or more

Los Angeles: 86.5 semester/130 quarter units or more

You might have to look at Graduate programs at LMU and Chapman or if they offer a 2nd Bachelor’s in film.
I am not too knowledgeable about Film majors so I cannot give you any other advice to make your career path possible. I only know that what your suggesting about transfer is not likely possible. Sorry…
Finish up your degree where you are. Get a job. Take a few classes at a CC to verify your interest in film. Work on your portfolio. Apply to grad school for film. Your portfolio will be a lot more important than your undergrad GPA in an unrelated field of study.
I agree with @happymomof1 finish your BS in Biz, you are almost done - graduate, get a job (maybe doing marketing for a film/entertainment co), take some classes at a CC and work toward a masters.
good luck
