CSU to CSU Transfer

Hi everyone!

I was just wondering is it possible to transfer from a CSU to CSU. Long story short, I applied to a bunch of CSU’s for spring 2018. I got into everywhere except CSULB and CSUF (the two schools where I originally wanted to go lol). I ended up deciding on CSUC. To be truthful, I’m home sick and I really don’t like Chico as much as I thought would’ve. I have all my Golden 4 done, and I have the rest of my transferable units done. Just wondering if there is a possibility for me, as opposed to me feeling like I’m going to get rejected to every school I applied to down south.

Thanks,

Fire.

in a word - yes.

but you will be competing with local CC students who have priority. You will need a competitive GPA and all the requirements checked off. For LB, a 3.4+ would probably get you into most majors. Slightly lower for Fullerton. There are less selective CSUs in So Cal like San Marcos and Channel Island - which you’ll find easier transfer targets. Be sure to apply broadly so you have options that work for you.
Good luck

NCal-I applied to Cal Poly SLO, CSUSB, CSUSM, SDSU, CSUF, CSUN, CPP, CSULA, CSUDH, CSULB and CSUCI, as a History major with a 3.2 GPA. I’ve got my Golden 4 and other reqs and pre-reqs done for that major. I just wanted to know if it’s allowed to happen or am I permanently stuck in Chico until I graduate from here?

Here is a link to Transfer admission summaries to help you gauge your chances.

Thanks for the chart Gumby! That helps quite a bit.

The system won’t hold you hostage in Chico. if you’ve met the pre-reqs, you should get into several of those schools.
Good luck.

Thank you NCal, I appreciate it! Hopefully I’ll end up where I’m meant to be :).
