CSU to UC

Hello, So I am currently enrolled in a CSU and I want to transfer to a UC. I've taken some coursework at a community college (most at CSU Stanislaus) am I able to use the classes i've taken at the community college to my advantage ? Or is it pretty much a hopeless case?

What do you mean by “advantage”? The transferable classes you’ve taken count. You are not a CC student for terms of preference because you’re now a CSU student.

As @mikemac implies, you are better off quitting CSU and completing IGETC at a great community college, or any community college. UCs are biased by their policies to prefer CC transfers. The reason? You have chosen a 4-year school, why not stick with it. A community college ends after 2 years, so of course you need to transfer. Pres. Napolitano has issued a mandate to strengthen and increase CC transfers to UCs. UC states in their materials that they prefer CCs to CSUs. Advice? move from CSU to CC for next semester, and complete IGETC. Foothill is a great school, if you are willing to move 100 miles to the lower peninsula for 5 months. I am sure your local CC is just fine. The ""CC class advantage may be that it is easier to satisfy any residency requirements for graduation (i.e. they may require that xx credits or yy semesters be taken at their school in order to graduate). This strategy is counter-intuitive, so I strongly advise that you research and discuss this with your parents and with the CC before doing it.
