CSU VS UW-Madison

Hello,
I'm going to be a junior and I'm transferring from my current in-state university to either Colorado State or Wisconsin-Madison. I'm looking for advice on both. I've spent a week in each town and love the Wisconsin spirit, sports, and pride of Madison but I love the outdoors, climate, attitude and location of Fort Collins. I'm going into mechanical engineering with a certificate (at Madison) or a possible double major in marketing at CSU. The out of state price looks like this: $21,500 - CSU, $23,000 - UW. Also, a factor is that Madison is a more expensive city for both rent and utilities. So, I guess I'm torn in between. I have 3 years left of school and I feel both would be a good fit, I'm just having trouble deciding which will be better for my future. Also, I can see myself working in either Chicago or Denver after school, so I think both universities would have good networks to help jump-start my career.
Thanks in advance for the advice!

since Wisconsin-Madison only costs $2,000 more and room/board can’t be too much more, I think Wisconsin would be definitely the much better choice for engineering.

The engineering program at CSU isn’t that particularly great, except for civil engineering. Wisconsin’s is awesome, though. Academically, Wisconsin is more known and produces better research than CSU’s engineering department.

Fort Collins is a nice place to live though.
