FYI, for the few folks who I know also had out of state degrees: I believe, after all this… after paying my enrollment deposit, going through orientation, and completing everything my offer is going to be revoked.
CSUF gave me 0 credits for my CLEP examination (it should be 12 credits) so I am 1 credit short on the 60 credits requirement. I had perfect scores and it should fulfill the C2 requirement according to https://www2.calstate.edu/apply/transfer/Documents/AA-2015-19.pdf but they are listing both Level I and Level II of my exam as “0”.
Additionally, it seems as though they are not accepting my College Writing class from an out of state school, so my Golden 4 are incomplete. I spoke with a very kind woman on the phone today who went out of her way to check on my specific case but I am hopeless, devastated and heartbroken. Even she was baffled why they would not just accept the class since I have an AA. Just a heads up for anyone who might have to deal with this.
@k8champs WHAT!? Is there any what you can speak to the dean of admissions?? There has to be a legit reason why they gave you admissions yet didn’t approve your courses and degree! Also you should be able to get a refund for the deposit since it’s THEIR fault Not yours! I really hope you can talk to someone!
@k8champs They need to look up the college catalog from the out of state school and year you attended. The course description will give them the information they are looking for. We had to do this at my CC for a couple courses to make sure they matched up. If you can prove that the course meets the requirement based on the information from that catalog and it matches (or closely matches) the CSUF writing class requirement description, they should accept it.
They may be lazy and not wanting to do this based on the the entrance tests you also are having issues with.
Message me if you want and we can talk about this.
@vvbrose@Rosemaryyy1 thanks guys! I ended up calling the A&R office and must’ve gotten lucky. after over an hour on hold I ended up speaking to a very kind woman who escalated this to someone higher up so they are going to look at it again. like you said, by comparing class syllabus sheets instead of… whatever else they were doing. I also ended up finding the CSU policy on CLEP exams late last night, in the form of a memorandum from 2015 and emailed that to verify@ asking if they could reconsider the 0 credits they gave me. They responded and ended up crediting me 3. Not the 12 my CC gave me, but at this point, I’ll take it. Coming into the CSU system as an out of state transfer has been nothing but a nightmare, lol.
Check your portals guys! I just checked my portal this morning and found out I was placed on the waitlist. My major is impacted (psych) so hopefully this helps anyone! Fingers crossed!
Hi everyone,
I just got waitlisted today after a month of waiting. Super disappointed. My major is accounting and my GPA is a 2.9 but with the ADT boost, it’s 3.1. Fullerton is my first choice of school. Does anyone know when we will hear waitlist results?
I got rejected today. I’m finishing my adt this semester for criminal justice. my gpa is 3.2, non local (from Riverside). I’m pretty heartbroken but maybe another semester. good luck to the rest of you guys that had gotten waitlisted.
Finally! I got waitlisted. I feel so relieved to have heard something. While I am not going to keep my hopes up, I will count my blessings that I have CSULB to fall back on. But I hope CSUF makes their decision soon so I can plan for orientation at CSULB accordingly…
@samief66 hey babe don’t give up! I was in the same boat as you. I have a 2.9 non local, 68 units but being on the waitlist doesn’t mean you didn’t get it! They said sometimes I
