CSUF Transfer Students Fall 2019

@firefox952 nice! What are the schools you got in?
Congratulations! I am still waiting on their decision.

@C105213 -

Accepted: CSUDH., CSUN, CSULB, CSUSB, CPP.
Denied: CSULA, CSUF.
Waiting for : CPSLO, CSUSM, and SDSU.

I’m sure you’ll find out pretty soon, or at least by tomorrow at the latest. I hope haha :).

@firefox952 congratulations once again!
I hope so! :slight_smile:

@C105213 - Thank you :). I hope so to lol.

Just checked my status. Waitlisted. Just happy I finally got something from them.

@honeybree23 are you local? What’s your gpa and program you applied for?

@pvgirl2015 My to do list says the same thing as well as GPA verification, and unit verification financial aid. I sent transcripts through email and online in February but this message has been on my to do the whole time. So I dont know what is going on? Maybe they are behind checking everyone off?

@lulu1115 I’ve had the GPA and Units Verification hold for the past month as well (though mine states that it is from admissions, not financial aid). I checked previous years’ threads and it seems that the hold is normal and takes a long time to clear. In one thread I checked the hold wasn’t removed until mid-May for most. Even knowing this, though, I was still planning to call next week to ensure that the hold isn’t preventing me from doing anything necessary and that they were being processed.

Does anybody know the non local transfer GPA cutoff? I have a 3.3 GPA (a 3.4 GPA at the time I submitted my application) and got denied admission saying my GPA didn’t meet out of local transfer GPA admission requirement.

@themightyeagle did you just get your portal updated or was this yesterday? What college are you transferring from? Here you will see students being admitted with a lower gpa than yours but they are local to Fullerton.

Has anyone called today to see if there will be any more notifications sent out before the end of the day? This wait is so frustrating. Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear!

@C105213 I just checked it last night. Im transferring from Mt. SAC so its considered “non-local” but its pretty close. I see other people that got admitted or waitlisted with lower GPA’s than mine and are considered non-local so I am confused why I was denied admission since I also have 76 units completed, three golden courses completed with all A’s and one course in progress. Not sure if I should submit an appeal or not.

@themightyeagle I told you I seen some of them here. It must be your program that impacted.

I got denied for Communications in Advertising. Currenty at GCC so i’m not really local, but this was my third choice anyways.

Accepted into CSULA, CSUN pending.

Good luck everyone!! I’m out.

I still have no admissions status for my application. Thinking about just going to Cal State Long Beach.

In regards to being considered local, please don’t assume that Cal States will go based off of your Community College location.

Unfortunately I was told by a Cal State rep that schools are now going based off of your high school location, not your current community college. This is because, for example, too many non locals were attending LBCC in hopes of getting priority admission into CSULB, as you know they are an impacted campus, reps and officials started to notice this and now Cal Sates decided to consider locals based off of their high school location.

I hope this helps some of you understand exactly what is considered local. It might not apply to every single situation but please consider this information.

@browniebee I’m assuming they are considering the home address as well? What if someone lived in San Fernando valley area and graduated from a high school there but moved to Long Beach and attended Long Beach community college? That will be a total disregard if they don’t look at home addresses?

@browniebee @C105213 My Major is Kinesiology so I’m not sure if it is impacted or not. If they were going off high school location, I was homeschooled in Rowland Heights but the programs I was with are located in Placentia/Yorba Linda (which would be considered local) and La Mirada.
