I recently have gotten accepted to Cal State Fullerton and Cal Poly Pomona. I am majoring in communications at both schools, but I don’t know which one is better in regards to their comm. programs.
Any help in deciding which school to go to?

Both are good schools.
First thing to think about is the size of the school. Fullerton has around 40k students, while CPP around 20k.
Next is to go into the departmental or major page and look at the coursework and graduation requirements. Are they general ed about equal at both schools? What classes do you have to take to graduate? Do the course descriptions seem interesting?
Then check for faculty – both numbers and background. While Fullerton will likely have more faculty because it’s a larger school, one never knows until one checks. You may also want to check review sites such as College Prowler or Rate My Prof. to get a feel for the class rigor, although I recommend a big grain of salt with these types of ratings.
Ask yourself where you want to live. Is housing assured for freshman? How many Freshman students live on campus and how many commute. Is housing in the area immediately surrounding the school affordable? Is the area around the school walk-bike friendly? What the public transportation like?
Finally, go visit the campus. I am assuming that you’re in California, so if it’s a school that you’ve considered and taken the time to apply to, it’s worth going to the campus to asses. Try to go when the students are there to get the best feel.
Good luck.
The best part of this decision is the two schools are 20 minutes apart (if you are lucky enough to find the 57 without any traffic…).
anyone else???
