CSULB Engineering

Is it common to graduate from engineering at CSULB in 4 years? How can you graduate earlier? If its common in 5 years, why is that?

Which Engineering are you pursuing? Here is a link to CSULB’s roadmap for all Engineering majors.

If you come into CSULB with some AP credit which allows you to opt out of some of the Engineering courses such as Calculus along with some GE’s, you can easily graduate in 4 years. As long as you follow the roadmap closely, are flexible with class times and professors and do not end up retaking many classes, you could possibly graduate early and definitely on-time. Taking summer session courses will also help you graduate early or on-time in 4 years. Since Engineering is a very unit heavy major and some students do not plan their schedules well, this could lead into a 5th year. Also many students work while going to school which could prolong their progress toward getting their degree.
