So far I got into cal state Long Beach, cal poly Pomona, and UC Riverside all for business administration. I live closests to pomona, and I was wondering which is the best for business? I haven’t seen lb yet but I heard it’s a really nice area. I’ve heard some bad things about ucr , mainly because it was a reject school. Cpp is nice as well but very close to me.
I graduated from UC Riverside in Business Administration…has top notch programs (many in US News Top 100) and great people! Is growing faster than ANY OTHER UC and moving up the ranks! They stopped taking redirects about 10 years ago…ALL UC schools that aren’t UCLA and Berkeley have lots of students not admitted there (not just UCR)! Average student GPA is 3.7, 27 ACT, and 1190 SAT, with a 57% student acceptance rate. Will be getting tougher each following year…definitely no walk in the park!! The Business Programs are both Nationally Ranked on 2018 US News Ranking at #77 (SOBA Undergraduate), and #93 (Anderson MBA). One of the best decisions of my life was graduating from UC Riverside!!
That being said, I have heard good things about Cal Poly Pomona and CSULB. They are much more affordable and may be better for you as a commuter if location is most important since UCR isn’t in the “big city” or by the beach. In fact, you can get a great education at any CSU if you apply yourself. Some majors at select locations are better than UC’s. However, as a general rule, ALL UC’s (lower, mid, and high tier) are on a higher level than Cal States with the University of California System holding national and international recognition.
Did you get into honors anywhere?
Will you be living on campus?
Is cost similar or is one less expensive?
all 3 have excellent reputations. what else are you looking for in your college experience?
If cost is not a factor then look at what kind of internship and job placement opportunities are offered at each. You might find that one school has a program related to your major that is unique and what you want.
You genuinely cannot make a bad decision between the three, but on a national level the UC brand on your diploma is going to be more widely appreciated.
