CSULB vs CSUN vs UCSC - TV / Film Production (Networking Question)

TV / Film Production - Networking Question

So I’m interested in the entertainment industry, mostly TV and commercials, and maybe film.
I was wondering which school was the best for networking? Networking is probably one of the most important thing you need when entering the entertainment industry.

I’ve heard CSUN has a strong film community, but how about CSULB? I’ve heard their Arts community is strong there. And for UCSC? (I know that CSUN is closer to major studios but does that necessarily mean it has a higher rate of internship opportunities?)
I want more of an hands on production class.

So over all, which school has the best:
-Network
-Production Class
-Internship opportunities!
-School reputation in the film industry

And if you are/did attend any of the schools, what did you like about it and what didn’t you like about them?

I’ve got the same kind of problem. I’ve been accepted to both CSULB and CSUN for the film major, but I’m still a bit unsure. As you say, networking is probably one of the most important factors in this industry.

I think maybe CSUN has better network opportunities, especially in film because it’s closer to Hollywood and got a pretty good program for what I’ve heard. However, I personally like the overall impression of Long Beach more. Unfortunately I don’t know anything about UCSC.

Yepp same here. People are saying that since CSUN’s closer to major studios its easier to network. But I don’t know if that’s necessarily true. Also, I don’t know how good the academic classes are over there… I know that Long Beach is really strong with the academics…

And like Long Beach isn’t too far from Hollywood.
Can anyone attending CSUN or CSULB tell us the pros and cons of the schools?

My son has the same interest. I heard that CSUN has much better equipment and it’s easier to get. I saw the film department at CSULB and it seemed kinda junky but the program is supposed to be great.

Teaching quality and industry connections matter more than equipment so it would be great to hear from anyone who has inside knowledge.
