CSUN Fall 2019 Transfers

@pvgirl2015 Are you actually from Palos Verdes? (I was looking at your username) AND THANK YOU SO MUCH. My number 1 is CSUF but I’m opening up more and more to attending CSUN.

Major: Management
GPA: 3.28 (3.38 w/ GPA boost, I don’t think CSUN offers a GPA boost since they are non-impacted but oh well)
Golden 4: A, A, A, A
Applied: CSUN, CSUF, CSUEB, & SJSU
Accepted: CSUEB

@xpatsxjoshx haha no I’m not, those are my initials! and you’re welcome!

@pvgirl2015 do you know when CSUN starts to send out admission notifications? I did a quick Twitter search and I see some people already got accepted. But I’m gonna assume most of those are freshman? I checked my e-mail from 4 years ago and I got accepted into CSUN on 02/10/14. Curious if its just random or freshman applicants get in first.

@xpatsxjoshx I’m pretty sure that’s just freshmen for right now, I don’t believe transfers will find out for a few weeks.

Major: Public Health
Transfer GPA: 3.3
AA-T/AS-T: No
Pre-reqs: Completed
Golden 4: B, A-, A-, B+
Local Area: No
Applied: SJSU, CSUF, CSUN, CSULB, SAC

I’m a Transfer and I found out Feb 7th. Check your CSUN student email.

@pvgirl2015 the lowest GPA accepted by the CTVA department for local transfers is a 2.4

Just checked my portal… took 3 business days but they finally officially have my eTranscripts. Right before the deadline this Friday too. Pretty hyped!!!

Do you think they’ll open applications for spring next year? Because I noticed they closed for spring 2018. This school totally flew passed my head while I was applying for fall 2019.

Accepted provisionally!!! Good luck to everyone else!

@gigidiamands CSUN no longer admits spring applicants due to the impaction of the school. Sorry! :frowning:

I live in the antelope valley, and I am really getting discouraged hearing about people getting provisionally admitted already! I just want to know lol!

how’s the acceptance rate for transfers at Csun? My major isn’t impacted, I’m from Orange County, so not local. Gpa is around 3.0 -3.1. Thanks!

@dbjavy Don’t be discouraged! If you’re a public health major, you’ll be one of the last transfer groups to hear back due to the list of impacted majors.
I didn’t receive my acceptance until March 14th (local, 3.3 GPA, CTVA Major) so you’ve probably got a couple of weeks left before you hear anything. The CSU’s just don’t have a uniform of notifying applicants on their admissions status so just hang in there!

@gigidiamands a large portion of the school is transfer students (but the majority of transfers are local.) With a 3.0-3.1, I’m not sure how it’ll go, because they’re strict on non-local GPAs being 3.7 or higher. That’s not to say it would be impossible for you to get it, but it will be the deciding factor depending on the GPA’s of the overall applicant pool. I think if you look around hard enough you can find the transfer statistics somewhere online. I’ve seen them before, but I don’t remember how or where. It’s tricky because the CSU schools (allegedly) intentionally hide their statistics. Best of luck to you!!!

Just checked my portal and it mentioned to submit my intent to register but it didn’t necessarily say my admission decision. I scrolled down to access my CSUN email and my admission decision was emailed there.

Accepted!!!

Major: Journalism

CSU GPA: 3.42
UC GPA: 3.33
AA-T/AS-T: None
Golden 4: All A’s
Local: Yes, most units from Santa Monica College

Applied to: CSULB, CSUN, CSULA, CSU Pomona, UCLA, Cal, UCI, UCSD, UCSB (tagged)
Accepted to: CSULB, CSULA, & CSUN so far!

I previously attended UC Davis during the 2011-2012 school year and withdrew due to a medical diagnosis. I left UC Davis with a 2.52 but received straight A’s at Santa Monica College (2017-2019) which bumped it up to a 3.42.

Hey guys!! Just saw I’ve been accepted! Received the acceptance e-mail on Friday. I guess the 3.7 min for non-locals is not set in stone! Heck yeah!!!

@StudentAgain Congrats!

@mchoneybone , @StudentAgain - Congrats on getting in at CSUN, it’s a great school!

hi! it still says my transcripts are “pending evaluation”, does this say this for anybody else?
