CSUN or Santa Monica CC?

I was accepted into CSUN, but I don’t know whether to attend Santa Monica College or CSUN? Santa Monica would be much cheaper and the reason Id go there is to transfer to UCLA so I can earn a prestigious degree. I’m worried I won’t have the college experience at a CC though. If I were to go to CSUN, I could live on campus… Please help me make this huge decision

Life in college is what you make it. If you work at it, you could have an awesome social life at a CC versus not trying at CSUN and having a terrible one. If your ultimate goal is to attend UCLA, Santa Monica would be the better choice. Don’t give up the idea of a UCLA degree just so you can have 2 years of “fun”. It is possible to have the “college experience” at Santa Monica, but you will have to go out and get it, it’s not gonna fall into your lap like it might if you lived somewhere on campus.

I hoped this helped and good luck with whatever you decide!

If you want to transfer to UCLA, go to SMC.

If you got into CSUN you must be local, as I believe they only accepted students from their service area.

Why not live on the Westside and attend SMC? Cheaper than CSUN and you can focus in on transferring to UCLA.

You can find other students to live with, even UCLA students.
