CSUN or UC Irvine?

I would just like to clear this up for myself. I know the better choice is UC, but I would like opinions. Which one would better help me in Law? I am still uncertain of what type of lawyer I will be(corporate, civil, or constitutional). I plan to work on my JD after college.

all other things being equal, grad schools prefer a Uni degree vs. a State Uni degree.

UCI is better for pre-law, and has a decent Political Science program.

UC Irvine for sure.

I doubt that, where do you get this info? And according to this then grad schools would prefer a degre from university of alaska over penn state

Cal State Northridge, eh? Must have been a desparate safety. Definitely go Irvine.

i think drew00 was meaning Uni degree as in the flagship research institution that prepares students to go to grad school or work after graduation whereas State Uni is typically a comprehensive college that prepares people to work after graduation.

of course, there are exceptions in name, like you mentioned, penn state is the flagship public research university of the state of pennsylvania.

ok, UC-I it is. :)

I only live with my mom, and my EFC is 0, so does anyone know if it's possible to get a full ride to UCI? Or enough money where I can pay it off with work-study and loans for the next 4 years? I will be a freshmen in Fall '06 and have gotten $13,600 in grants so the rest will come out of work-study and loans. Does the grant amount vary each year too?

Any comments?

you will definetly get aid having an efc of zero. they will mostl ikely meet your need 100 percent but do realize meeting a persons need does not consist of a full ride in terms of you not having to pay anything. you will need to do work study and what not.

Yea, I'm aware of that, but the more the aid, the less loans I take out because I plan to take out a loan for law school(after college) which is probably going to be a big amount.
