<p>Hi, I wanted to know how CTY online courses work exactly? Can I accelerate any of my courses by taking a year ahead? Does it count or show on my transcript if I completed a course? Do I get any credit, and if so, how would that work???? CTY</p>
<p>I don’t know “how CTY online courses work exactly”, but if you’re a homeschooler it definitely counts and you can put it on your transcript. If you’re in high school you have to work it out with the school what they want to do about it. I don’t think there’s a standard - some schools will accelerate you, some will put it on your transcript, and others won’t care.</p>
<p>Thanks for the informative explanation as the site was rather confusing. Regardless of my school, I doubt I will end up taking a course, primarily since I haven’t taken the SATs in 7th or 8th grade, which is a requirement for advanced courses. I can take it this year (9th) , but I’m overwhelmed by my rigorous honor courseload and studying for the PSATs. Also, I don’t like unnessecary things on my transcript. Anyway, thanks.</p>
