Taking AP's on CTY

I know most people who have done CTY have gone to there summer camps and such around 8th grade, however they have quite a large quantity of AP's that i am qualifies to take. I am currently enroled in a distance learning course to boost my math placement and i really enjoy the program. If its relevant im only a freshman in highschool at the moment. now my question is: If i take online AP's through CTY, and i pass on the AP test (4 or 5) what impact will it have on my resume? (my school considers all online courses to be standard college prep level classes).
I am very confused about this.
thanks for your help

Speak with your guidance counselor. Literally, if your guidace counselor has any smarts, he should know a thing or two about CTY and how prestigious and difficult to get into.

Assuming his knows that, ask if you can get special designation on your HS transcripts that reflects the rigorous level of your online class

Typically at my old highschool, you can take visual learning classes AP classes online and it would appear on your college transcript as "Virtual highschool AP Stats" or whatever

Dude, if you can get CTY on your resume, it would be huge given that adcoms probably know of the tough rigorous entrance exams for middle schoolers and how it retains and recruits gifted middle schoolers and such.

It would have a huge benefit for you to get a great score on the AP test and would look great if you participated in CTY it would look good on your resume

Which school are you doing the program at? Hopkins?

yea, well its an online program so i assume yes.

anybody else?

Studying and taking APs in general, and especially outside of school, always helps. However, it won't help too much.

As for how it's going to look on your transcript, you should talk to your guidance counselor.

At my school, AP Calculus AB was transferred directly to the transcript as a weighted credit.

Why do you care how your HS treats it - you can have CTY send their own transcript, and you will have your scores from the AP test. Will you need credit for the CTY class to count toward your HS graduation? If not, it doesn’t need to be on their transcript - you will list the courses on your college application, and the colleges will know what they are.
