CTY Summer

<p>S has done several summer programs through CTY and others although he has focused on liberal arts/languages as that is where his interests lie. He attended a CTY program during the summer after his sophomore year which he enjoyed very much and got a lot out of. His only complaint (mine too) was that he was in a city (Seattle) for 2 weeks and the students were never allowed off campus to see the city. Would have been nice for them to have been given a tour on the weekend…</p>

<p>A few weeks after he returned, we received a very detailed report from his class instructor. It literally included quotes from my S during class discussions. It was wonderful to receive this kind of feedback and know that S was very engaged in the class. At the suggestion of someone here on CC I sent a copy of it to S’s GC to include in his file.</p>

I forgot to add that attending CTY probably does not give any admissions boost. But if it sparks an interest in your kid and makes them want to go further then that is always helpful in admissions and in life.</p>
