Cult Films

go watch REQUIEM FOR A DREAM no doubt one of the deepest movies youll ever see!

Clue
Napoleon Dynamite

Man, how could I forget to mention Napoleon Dynamite? Good call DannyLS3. During high school many of my classmates were constantly referencing Napoleon... its such an accessible movie, because its only rated PG. (Personally, I thought it was sort of bad.)

Oh and REQUIEM FOR A DREAM-- I wouldn't exactly say it has big cult status. It has a ton of devoted fans, but its not like Donnie Darko or Napoleon. I thought it was really interesting-- Snorri camera shots and all-- but I really wouldn't care to see it again. It's such a downer. :(

How could I forget AMERICAN PSYCHO. As someone who's read the book, the film was quite tame comparatively. Desanitized. Christian Bale was amazing, but the film wasn't too great. AP (both the movie and the book) has a HUGE following, especially on the internet.

Half Baked & Being John Malkovich

Valentina, American Psycho is definitely a cult movie. good call. We mentioned Rules of Attraction earlier. Both were written by Bret Easton Ellis (as you already know) and soon a new movie is coming out based on Glamorama. I am sure it will reach cult status as well!

Raising Arizona
Rushmore (the kid resembled Tom Cruise in Risky Business!!)
Has anyone seen Bottle Rocket?

I love Rushmore!

What about Bottle Rocket?
Owen & Luke Wilson. Ring any bells. Its an independent film infact.

I have read a lot about it. Isn't the there another Wilson brother in it? I still haven't been able to see it yet.

Does anyone think that Happiness and Welcome to the Dollhouse are cult films? In my area they seem to be... well, maybe not Happiness. It is too strange for most people. I don't blame them.

Happiness and Welcome to the Dollhouse- Way too over the top for me.

Se7en, The Shawshank Redemption(#1 in my chart of all times)

The Shawshank Redemption is definitely the best movie ever in my opion. Happiness is quite out there, but Welcome to the Dollhouse isn't too strange...
