Cultural Connection 2010

Hey 2014! Once again, congrats on Yale and I hope you're all having fun this summer!!

I'm going to be a CC aide this year and just wanted to let you guys know that they're still accepting registrations. CC (Cultural Connections) is a great program that introduces students to Yale a week before Camp Yale. You get a chance to meet really cool classmates and upperclassmen (like me =]) and to learn about many resources offered at Yale. There are also a ton of activities that are A LOT of fun, like Laser Tag! AND you get to move in early, which I assure you is a GREAT perk, especially when hundreds of other kids are trying to move in and you're already all settled.

There is some time spent on cultural resources at Yale - the cultural centers, Peer Liaisons, etc. as well as some discussion on diversity. While you might not find these fun, they're completely manageable and sometimes can skip them (shhh!). Honestly, I felt like CC was more of an excuse to have fun, while actually aiding students who wanted to learn about the cultural resources at Yale.

If you have any questions/concerns definitely shoot me a PM, ask away here, or send me a message on FB (just search drbigboyjoe9505 on FB, lol).

And if you already have signed up for CC or another pre-o program, encourage your friends to do so too. Even if it’s not CC (although I’d prefer it to be, =]), I really do think every freshman should do a pre-orientation program!

My daughter signed up for CC and is very excited. Typically how many students participate in the program? Is it a very diverse group of kids? thanks
