Hey, I think that NHS is much easier to receive than Cum Laude. Cum Laude is awarded to the top ten percent at my school and it is quite 'the academic award' at boarding prep schools. Pretty much these cum laude students attend the college of their choice. However, I feel like that National Honors Society at a local prep school is a lot easier to get and has less rigid requirements. At boarding school, I did not receive cum laude and the students who did were practically outstanding students who were college scholars and who all went on to go to H,Y, P. I feel like that I could have gotten NHS at another school and now that when I compete with NHS candidates, I am at a disadvantage.
