I got accepted to City College but I’m defering my application to spring 2017. What happened with you? @danihto
@ilovegreys123 I haven’t heard back from them yet…and it’s been more than two months almost three since I applied…why are you defering??
@danihto @tobykhai im in the same boat as you guys! i tried to check my application status as a transfer (i applied waaay after the usual deadline) and i got the same message. im worried and confused now too. im not sure who to call either.
@danihto I’m deferring because they gave me my decision this month and I applied in February so I was expecting a decision sooner like the other schools, I’m an international student and I need to have a visa which takes a while to process plus it’s more convient for me to go in the spring. You should call or email them to find out your application status I used to email and call them a lot because it wasn’t quite clear where or when the decision will be announced. Good luck
@ilovegreys123 I’m also international and so I called today and I was told to wait until the end of June or mid-July for a decision…I guess I will also have to defer my admission in case I am accepted since there’s not to much time left for the Fall…
@carolinecm2 don’t worry I called them today and I was told to wait until the end of this month for a decision…so maybe that’s your case too. When did you apply?
I called them yesterday and the lady told me the same thing. She told me to wait until the end of July… OMG I think I cannot have a good summer but thinking about this all summer.
Also she asked me if I owed money in my current college and I said no. She said if I owe money, transcripts cannot be transferred,
Why do we have to wait for so long? Does it mean that the chances for getting in it low??
@tobykhai are u applying as an international student? I think they take so long because they receive a lot of applications…but still 2-3 months for a decision is WAY too much time
@danihto No I am from Queens College…
So are they going to look at our spring 2016 grades as well?
I reached out to them last week and just got an email letting me know that “since [my] application was recently evaluated, I’ll receive an admissions decision by mail or email within 2-3 weeks.”
Super excited!
My cuny portal updated last week but in a more complicated manner, I don’t really understand. It said something bout deferring a semester…I am an international student, I sent my documents like three weeks ago.i can’t even tell whether or not they’ve been received… On the top of the portal it says “According to our records, you have already applied to The City University of New York for Fall 2016.” Does the mean that my admission is under review and my documents has been successfully received?
@lovatoz That’s just the standard portal we all see right now You can always call or email them to see what you might be missing, but it might take a few more weeks for them to process your documents
Michilada# thank you so much…Do you by any chance their contact…something I could get them on?
The same thing appeared In mine,Does that mean your documents has been received?@danihto
@lovatoz 212-997-CUNY (2869)
Email: admissions@cuny.edu
I called the hotline and they said Hunter College (my top choice) made a decision and will get back to me soon… SO NERVOUS
@michilada,OmG,that’s great news for you…But did it reflect in your portal ?
What does your current portal says?
The same thing, that they received my application and that I have the option to defer. Your admissions notification will not be on the portal at all, it should be emailed or mailed.
I might still have a chance @michilada…I tried calling them yesterday with the number you gave me but to no avail…they asked me for my social security number or cuny ID number- is that the same as your control number? Either ways I entered the control number but nothing worked…
So eventually I was unable to check my status
