Curious about EA Notification

I read that an individual who applied to Rhodes EA (Cllass of 2015) received a phone call from the school extending an offer of admission and a merit scholarship award. The call was received on Tuesday (1/11/11--cool date, huh?). Anyway, was wondering if anyone else had been extended an offer in this manner. My daughter applied EA--I understood that admission decisions are to be mailed today, and award notifications will not be distributed until February. I am out of touch as to how these things work, but was surprised that an admisions/scholarship notification would be communicated over the phone. Good Luck to everyone still waiting.

My son received a phone call on Tuesday informing him that he had been accepted and had been awarded a scholarship. The admissions rep that he spoke with said that he would be receiving a packet in the mail. He also received an email discussing the admission offer and scholarship. He received something in the mail today from Rhodes, but he’s not home, so I don’t know what it is. Good luck to all who are waiting!

I didn’t get a phone call…I guess if you didn’t receive a scholarship, you probably don’t get the phone call. Good luck! BTW does anyone know if the decisions will be posted on bannerweb?

My son received his admission letter today. The letter said award notifications would be mailed within two weeks of the acceptance letter. We live in TN, so I’m sure our letter arrived a little sooner than most.

oh okay thanks! do you know if your son’s bannerweb account states that he’s accepted?

Well, not having looked at it before I can’t be sure, but it says under Admission Type: Early Action. I don’t know if it said that before or not. Hope that helps.

oh thanks…yea mine says the same
