Curious about financial aid for students with a sibling in college.

My son is at UPENN and loving it. My youngest will be entering college next year for 2015-16 (probably a state school by choice).
I am curious if any UPENN parents saw their aid package go up when there was an additional college student added to mix? It is a stretch now financially, anything extra would help. Thanks for any future responses.

Yes. Penn FA from will go up substantially. My son’s FA from MIT went up in his third and four year when my D started at Penn. My daughter’s FA from Penn was a lot higher than the MIT FA when my son was in the first and second year.

Yes! Absolutely. If you look at the FAFSA and the CSS Profile, they ask for the number of college students in your household. Having more people in your household, in addition to having more people in your household who are enrolled in college, will lead to more generous need-based aid at a school like Penn, which meets 100-percent of the demonstrated need.
