Curious about my chances

Hello College Confidential!

I just wanted to get a feel about whether or not I have a shot of getting into a school like Yale. I understand how competitive the Ivies are and also how much luck is involved in being admitted, but I wanted to get a general idea about my chances. Thanks in advance!

Essays: Under Construction

State : NY
School Type: Public
Ethnicity: White
Gender: M
Income Bracket: Mid
Hooks : First generation American from a country no one's heard about (Malta), if that's a hook =p

Your academic record is very impressive, even for ivy standards. Make sure you find some way (essay for example) to demonstrate all the work you have committed to your extracurriculars and how passionate you are about them. I really have no suggestions. If your essay and teacher recs are strong, I would say you have a very good chance. Keep studying for those tests :)

P.S. I have heard of Malta.

Haha finally someone who’s heard of Malta! =p

Thanks for taking the time to chance me, I really appreciate it! Also, thanks for the advice. I will definitely get working on those essays. =)

You’re welcome! Let me know if I can help you with anything else.

I have to agree - not much to critique! I would work your activities into your essay but honestly I think it’s pretty self explanatory. You’re very bright, committed, and ready for Yale! Good luck with that tricky admission process… you have an excellent chance!

Thank you so much!

And on a side note, I apologize to everyone for placing this chance thread here. I didn’t realize that there was a section for such as thing. :</p>
