Current Bowdoin Students: Getting help with math and academics in general

Kinda random question, but I’m interested in knowing about getting extra help in math? Is there a tutoring club? Office hours? Asking around the dorm?

How is the Baldwin program? Are the Baldwin mentors accessible and qualified?

Is the Quantitative Skills test hard? I don’t really understand what it’s for. Is it just for placement purposes? Are the Q-skills tutors accessible and generally willing to take the time to individually tutor people? Are they available even for the “harder” math courses that most humanities/social science people don’t take?

I’m not so good at math but I’m interested in taking a few courses at Bowdoin. I’ve found that it generally takes me significantly more thought and work outside of class to understand the concepts and since I work better with other students, not professors, I’m very interested as to the quality of Bowdoin’s academic support structure. It looks pretty solid on their website, but what is it actually like?
