Two of my favorite things, alcohol and gentleman's clubs... hahaha. I kid, kinda. Gentleman's clubs don't have to be expensive if you know what you're doing. Also plenty of people at UCLA have fake ID's but I don't think it would be worth it for 3 months. There's only two real bars in the Westwood Village area (though a couple restaurants sell alcohol too) and most of the partying happens out in the apartments and frat houses anyway. 3 months isn't too long of a wait anyway and you can use the other 6 months of the year to explore the bars around LA. You'll probably just still be getting comfortable with the whole Westwood area for the first quarter.

yeah i expect adrenalin will keep me going for the first three months, though a beer or five wouldnt go amiss. come january, gonna hit it hard lol! i wont worry about fake id then, if my english uni is anything to go by, house parties are the way forward in the first term, then you get bored and head out and explore. cant wait.

are these parties invite only then, or is it admittance if you arent ****ed up and have a decent attitude? im expecting the former tbh but i should be able to talk myself into some places surely?

I think the majority of parties AREN'T invite only, actually. Lots of crashing.

are electric dispensing pots allowed in the dorms (water heaters)?

technically, not.

but i hear plenty of ppl bring water-heating-related devices and never get caught...so hide it if you bring it. :D

what happens if you get caught

you get expelled.

good one emmeline

Assuming that I decide to drop 2 of my classes before the fall quarter even begins, do I get my money refund?

You dont' pay on a per class basis. Your UCLA fees allow you to enroll in as many units as you want (and are approved to enroll in) with no extra cost.

Yeah. 12 units or 18 units, it doesn't matter moneywise. Obviously the more units you take the more you get for your money.

But isn't there a instructional fee for each unit you take? I think I heard that it was $6.00 per unit you take.

go check out the billing thread. there is, but its only applied if you haven't dropped by the fourth week. it isnt posted until november.

for language courses --- do the sequences usually progress during the same time throughout the year? ditto question for something like chem20a/chem20b

Bump......................

Woops...Yes. Languages usually progress during the same time throughout the year. So when 1 is offered, so is 4. When 2 is offered, so is 5. Etc.

Hm..I'm looking up German courses for the upcoming year, and for the fall German 1, 2, 3, and 4 are offered, as well as the spring. But in the winter, only 1, 2, and 4 are offered. I wanted to take 3 in the winter too, will they add it later when they find a professor to teach it? Or is it not offered at all during the winter?

It may or may not be offered. Don't count on it and try to take it in order if you can.

how's la jolla ari?

/random
