current BSE students...

how hard is it to juggle math, physics, and chem during freshman year... and still probably take another elective and a writing seminar?

also, by taking chem physics and stuff in freshman year... by the time the mcat rolls around, wouldn't you forget a lot of stuff?

How hard is engineering at Princeton in general?
Does it suffer from grade deflation..etc?

BSE = low GPAs = low moral = low social life
Very hard :(

wait, are you a current student.

that's NOT good news. seriously...

it was sarcasm ;) ; BSE students are having as much fun as AB students Dont worry about it

oh man phew...

i was getting worried. haha.

So, how tough is freshman year. Is it manageable to get a 3.4/3.5?

3.5 will get you into the 2nd quintile, which is not too bad :)

ok, so getting a 3.5 must no be impossible then.

bangoo, honestly, what is your gpa and is it novice to say 'i want to get a 3.8 or 3.9'?

1) my GPA is .* (none of your busiwax)
2) getting 3.8 or 3.9 is certainly possible and that high GPA will get you into the exclusive club (a.k.a the first quintile membership)

ok bro..

it's soo tough to find advice and i wish you could tell me about it, man.

how much work is physics, chem, and calc during the first semester? hour estimates are good... professors nice?

Yea dude...people need 3.8+ to pursue future dreams etc...
so can you PLEASE give some advice?
How much work would a 3.8+ be...hours/day?

Haha, I feel bad for Bangoo and other current students. They're being harassed by all us nervous 2010ers. But you should know that we really appreciate all this help (and that we promise to be assets once we get to campus)!

if this is harassing a current student for an answer, then that's pretty crappy.

it would be better if everyone was more open.

i guess i'll have to continue the trend of "not answering with a straight response"

Relax...remember, many Princeton students are studying for upcoming finals right now.

Right....that makes it even better for us to know..

If you're BSE, you're going to have to work hard for a 3.8+. One of my roommates is BSE, he got a 4.0, but his first semester social life was nearly nonexistent. Remember, you're in large intro courses where BSE, pre-med, and general major students are trying to do well. It's pretty tough considering there are some extremely smart people in these classes.

And please don't come into Princeton talking about quintiles...unless you're making fun of them. Mercilessly.

no social life = bad

the major component of Princeton is making connections and getting rigged up with some future President so you can be made some secretary. also a time for joining some secret societies and becoming one of the richest.
i could get a good education at some state school

so, i think a 3.8 is good if i can have a socail life. the ivy league is really only for connections

Not cool:

I hate grade deflation! lol
