Current students....How to sign up for housing?

Well, I’m kinda confused on how to sign up online for housing. Also, which dorm is the best for an incoming freshmen in respect to proximity to classes, safety, size, etc?

Knowing any of that information wouldn't help you because you don't get to pick your dorm. They have a tiny questionnaire to help figure out living habits and put you with compatible people but I think they end up ignoring it anyway (other than perhaps requesting single-sex housing). If somebody here told you the "best dorm," although they're all pretty similar, you'd just end up being disappointed if they didn't put you in it.

You can put a housing choice in writing. Deispremed is completely wrong when he says they're all pretty similar. Scheffres and Gordon were just renovated, so I would put in writing "I hereby request to be housed in Scheffres or Gordon" to ResLife. But, I don't know how realistic of a shot you have of getting in here. ResLife places you in housing based on the date your matriculation deposit has been received. It's late in the game; it's very possible the nicer dorms are full.

I stand corrected. When I was a freshman there were no renovated dorms.

what do you do after you saved the preferences online? are there anymore actions that should follow? sorry, kinda confused.

drinking, I think that's it. Kinda' threw me for a loop, too, when I did it. I guess we just keep our fingers crossed from here on in.
