Current TROJANS taking questions

Wow, that's an impressive bill for tacks & nails in the walls, I guess it's a good thing it wasn't more (tho I'd be pretty unhappy to have such a bill myself). Doesn't seem that fair to make BOTH pay if the damage was all done by the roommate.

Well, if neither roommate owns up to the damage, they have to split the charges between both kids... It wouldnt be fair to charge it all to one person just because the roommate "claims" it was all his damage...

I guess from the school's perspective, that's the best way to handle things. I'm sure it must irk any kids who really had no role in damaging the premises & their families. Would definitely not make me want to room with the same kid in the future if I'd always be stuck with a substantial damage charge. $3000 is still pretty hefty, but probably the school will have to patch & repaint, which can add up as well.

What you can do to avoid these charges is immediately report any damage (done by your roommate) to your CSC so it is on record that it was not your damage... One of my friends did this all semester because his roommates were constantly trashing the apartment....

I should clarify a little. My brother never reported any of the violations at all, also his roommate had problems with the 1st roommate he had and became my brother's roommate sometime after school started. My brother had problems with him also. The roommate did not return to SC for second year and moved home before finals. My mom took the other parents to court and got the money back.
CubsRule you are right though, it is important to report the damages as they happen. My brother didn't do that. And $3000 is the USC price for nails, tacks and painting!!

Ahhh....what are you doing back on this board troll??

Hey, be nice. Nothing bad was said by him. He's allowed to have his own opinions. Everyone is welcome here, even if they went to another school.

I do agree.

Uh...you guys must have missed his posts earlier that got removed on the Who Turned Down USC thread. I thought he got kicked off and tried to use another username...collegemom2006. He said he wouldn't be coming back on this board after that nasty and lame post he made.....so why is he back on here again?? It doesn't take a lot of effort to figure out from this guy's inconsistent posts that somebody is lying. So you claim you grew up going to USC football games and stuff and then start talkin' trash about the school that doesn't even make sense?? Give me a break...people see through the lies.

C'mon, this guy also got a brother going to USC? BTW, is your mama still a USC alum;)

I am really amazed by this pathological liar. The sky is the limit for the lying CA2006. These UCers really like their connection to USC:)

Regardless of his "troll" status or not, the point is that TrojanHousing is serious about getting their money and don't really care who is at fault for damages to the room.

Next question please.

how hard is it to get into the keck school of medicine? like that BA/MD program with college of letters and sciences?

I think the BA/MD program is one of the most competitive at the entire university... as for Keck, Im sure it is very difficult to get in to, like most med schools. Exactly how difficult (GPA, MCATs, etc) I dont know, but Im sure the averages are easily available online.

when/how do we buy books? do we get a list at orientation?

At least at the 5/20 HI orientation, the students did NOT receive a list of the books they will need for the courses they will be taking.

Your book list is on OASIS... under "Required Books" or something like that. If you dont have OASIS yet, then you have to wait. (Its the only place Ive ever seen a book list).

the book list will appear on oasis sometime this summer. There'll be plenty of time to either buy from the campus bookstore or online. I usually don't buy textbooks until at least the 1st week of classes, because I get the syllabus for each class then and I can find out which books I really need and which I don't.

Have people already received USC course catalogues? I want to have a fairly good idea of which courses I want to take before I go to the orientation, but I haven't received anything that would help me choose yet...

I got mine during orientation last year.

My child got his paper copy of the courses offered at orientation on Saturday as well. There is an on-line listing of all courses available at USC.edu but they don't offer paper copies of anything prior to orientation (I had asked).
