Current WPI folks

Hey WPI peeps,

I am curious to know about the city of Worcester itself. How is your expereince in the city? Is it safe? Any fun stuff to do? Is it suburban, urban, or rural? I didn't take any of these factors into consideration (iknow, i know, stupid stupid stupid) but I LOVED WPI's presentation and their degrees offered and their cd, and their financial aid options are not bad. Anyway, please post anything about the social life of the school as well as the city. THANKS!

I visited the school, and the school itself is pretty nice. If you've gone to RPI, it has a similar setup, with the dorms basically on the outside. (It's definately bigger than RPI, and much cleaner.) I've heard horrible things about both the city of Worcester and the social life there. It is only about 20 minutes or so from Boston, so you can drive there if you really wanted to do something. I took a campus tour provided by the school itself, so, obviously, I got a somewhat baised view of the school. There is a 67-33 or 77-23 (well u get the point), ratio of male to female. You should really attend that "Admitted Students" night thing in february. It's a fairly small campus also, which is always good. And I must say, the food they gave us wasn't half bad. But, again, could be different in the regular cafeteria (I went on the Juniors Night last April).

[oops, forgot I'm not a "Current WPI folk"..oh well, just thought I'd add my 2 cents]

Thanks for the update jedi. I don't know if I wanna go there; its a little chilly (I am from Miami...the coldest I've experienced this season is 46 degrees), and I am a senior. But I think I know what BOSTON looks like, so worst comes to worst, I'll just hang out in Boston instead of Worcester every weekend (I have friends there).

Anyway, if anyone else has anything to say, please do so. Forget the title; I shoulda considered visitors to Worcester as well...
