I'm a senior in high school from Worcester, and am taking all of my classs this year at WPI, so I'm pretty much a freshman there. If anyone has questions about WPI or Worcester in general, ask them here. Or, you can email me at jstevens@wpi.edu.

Interesting questions....
The student body is 75% male 25% female, and a good part of the guys are in frats. The two stereotypes of people at WPI are the frat boy and the computer nerd. They are pretty much true, but I've met a lot of normal, down to earth people too. Most of the students are hard workers, but know how to party on the weekend. Drinking and smoking pot are big, but only on Tuesday night (most people don't have classes weds.) and the weekends.

Worcester isn't anything special. If you are into music, a lot of concerts come to the Palladium and the Centrum (now the DCU Center). There are a few malls, movies, and not much else. However, Boston is only 45 minutes away, and you can take the train.

I honestly don't know. I don't know that many gradates/upperclassmen, but out of the ones I know, they all seem to have jobs lined up before they even graduate, or they are going to grad school. I think it helps that WPI makes you do 3 real-world projects, so you get some practical experience.
