Sorry if this was asked before, but if some classes are year-long and others are in semesters, do you just leave the 2nd column blank next to the year-long classes? Or, do you put that same course in the second column, indicating you are taking it both semesters?

For the full year/first semester/first trimester column, I included classes that were only a semester long. So technically, the college will not be able to identify which of my classes only last for a year and which are only during the first semester. However, they are also getting our transcripts so if they truly care they can check.

son listed full-year on 2nd column too - he will still be taking the class at that time.

It’s unclear. If you have some semester classes for 1 credit each, that is clear. But then a few year-long classes for 1 credit…do you put them in both columns and call them 0.5 credit each? Still doesn’t seem right. I guess they can figure it out on the transcript…

Son just listed the name nothing about the # of credits. All they asked for was names.

@concerned123- they also ask for credits.
Just ended up putting “full year” next to the 2 classes that are full year, leaving 2nd column blank on those.

you’re right I didn’t see that - it is clear, but there should be a special space for it. the way it is set up implies just the title is necessary.

Already sent 3 apps - should he email the school(s)? It should not matter because they are going to be looking at the transcripts - they would not go by the common app for this and/or scores.

for full year I think I would include it in both columns and just put (5) in parenth - they will know it is full year and you are taking it both semesters by the transcript. like this and everything else there is more than one way of doing it right.
