Curve Predictions March SAT

@112358 Oh gosh! I think it's a combination of an Asian representation (lol) the subject matter (computer programmer turned novelist) and the kookier than usual style of writing. I remember reading one sentence and being even unable to tell what the hell the subject and objects were. Something about the "conditions of human's existence"? And I usually find CR really easy and fairly enjoyable. There were also really crazy hard sentence completions, like the ones with malfeasance and obsequiousness.

The math though. I just want to kick it. I took it back in November, incredibly easy - just like the Blue Book. For some reason this time, I didn't even know how to interpret some of the problems, and then for the grid-ins, I kept using the numbers that WERE the restrictions, like in the 0<x<7 problems. I put 7 weeps

You know what would be awesome? If I could morph into one of those Scantron machines at will. Instant 2400!

@serafina: I know. The questions are always simple; they just make them look hard to trick you. That way when you realize what the answer was you feel dumber than a 1st grader. I think CB does it on purpose ;)

the SAT is an IQ test simple as that.
Here are some interesting facts-
(under the old 1600 system)
Bill Gates scored a 1590 (bad day?)
Paul Allen, the cofounder of microsoft scored a 1600

Hahaha. Learn how to activate the key through the scantron and you are on your way to a 2400!

Math was ridiculously difficult. I think I missed more than 5. I found critical reading to be the same as usual...not terrible, but not great either. Writing was significantly easier than the december test.

I wonder who the people that design the SAT are. Geez, I would sure like to be their child...test prep like none other..haha

i hope the curves are generous...as always :)
but yea...i agree with mellamokiwi.
writing was DEFINITELY easier than the december one..maybe it's because i prepped for this one, but even so...
so i wouldn't bet on a super high curve for writing. but who knows!

the math curve is not goin to be generous
the writing is as usual
the cr will be generous

@rawkfist - bah at the math curve. Is it just because a lot of people are very good at SAT math compared to CR? Or is it in relative difficulty to the other tests? I thought this one was more poorly designed.

Anyway, did anyone happen to have the "impoliteness" prompt besides me? It seems so strange, like a lot of people here on CC seemed to have a difficult time with the math, but did relatively okay with CR/Writing. Anyone else share those feelings?

math was iffy
i'm terrible at CR, so i don't think i would be a good judge of that
writing was just the same..some of the stuff was more obvious to me this time around, though

I had the impolite prompt.
It took me forever to think of examples.

I thought the Reading and Writing very easier then Jan. I thought the Math this time around actually was a challenge, which makes no sense, because my best subject is math...:(

I hope Math is like this

-1=790
-2=770
-3=760
-4=720
-5=700

None of it was harder than it usually is, although apparently a lot of people got tripped up on the f(ab) = f(a) + f(b) question, as well as the Indian passage for the CR. Despite this, since I didn't find it any more difficult than a normal test, I'd say it'll stick to a normal curve.

Math
-1 780
-2 760

CR
-2 800 (if the Indian passage was really that hard)
-3 790

Writing
-3 (with a 12) 800
-4 790

Like how many do you have to miss on each section to get a 700 or 720? Or if someone has a whole table with how many you can miss and your score that would be awesome. I know on certain sections you can miss two and get a 800.

Seconded! 10char

these curves u guys are putting up are wicked! r u saying 6 math questions wrong is a 650??? cause that means i FAILED!

Did anyone find section 10 harder than usual? I usually breeze through it but this time I had more questionable answers in section 10 than the main writing section.

Generally there is a harsh curve for math. -1 on this test will likely be 770ish. -2 will probably be around 750ish.

Critical reading has a good curve. -4 is usually still a 800.

Writing has an OK curve. -4 and a 12 essay can be an 800.

But the curve depends on each test, so this is just my prediction.

Really? I've generally heard that -2 is and 800 and sometimes -3, but not -4...
