Curving in Science Dept.

Does anybody know if there is a curving scale in the science courses at UMich? If so, what is the breakdown of percentages/grades. Thanks

they vary...classes like general chem have a set scale of 85+ A 70+ B 55+ C...ochem varies with class smartness but it usually ranges an 80+ A, 60+ B, 40+ C...bio is 90+ A, 80+ B 70+ C (ARG!) i dunno about physics and other classes..it depends on the professor

i see, well it seems like they at least give you a little room for error :)

well, jakem you sound interested in science. Let's just say this. You will do just fine because there's a bell curve, and that's accounting for pre-meds. You will learn really soon upon coming to Michigan that pre-meds drastically help the science curve for those who are genuinely interested in science. And if the pre-meds have to get B's somehow, you'll have no problem getting an A.

premeds need A's, B IS TOO LOW AHHH!!! hahaha

That's why I like you umar. Anyone willing to use stereotypes about your own major to make fun of your fellow people is cool in my book.

haha, well i hope i'll be able to do that next year

haha, yea well it's the only way you can survive otherwise your brain might just explode
