does anybody know about UMich's pre-med program???

would someone please give me a general introduction about UMich's pre-med program?? Like whether they're supportive or competitive, or it's really hard to get good grades, or the number of students who have dropped off during courses?? anyone??

Well... there really isn't a pre-med "program" per se. However there are a number of courses that you're required to take (ie Organic Chem, Biochem, Genetics(?), Animal Phys, etc) that tend to be difficult classes with competitive students.

Since I'm not pre-med I can't answer based on personal experience, but I've had several pre-med roommates over the last few years and I can tell you that it isn't easy and you are competing for grades.

Pre-med courses at any top university aren't going to be easy :)

Hey,

I am a premed student here, although only a freshman so I can't tell you much yet. Kazz is right, no "pre-med" program but there are the usual courses you have to take and there is always a pre-health advisor around here and such. I am only in Gchem and Calc 1 and such, but so far it's pretty easy stuff and the grading scale is what I think very lenient.

Of course, once I go onto Orgo and Calc 2, more in depth courses It will be definitely be otherwise lol...its hard, A LOT OF WORK, but cmon, its UM...if you do well here, you're gonna do well in the future...haha nice slogan
