Cutthroats at Cornell?

hey, can anyone comment on how cut throat aem or regular econ is?

did you just miss the point of this entire thread?

im a freshman going on pre med route and its not competitive. but its true that GPA matters a lot for pre meds and cornell doods are aware of that. however there is no sabotage or at least i haven't seen any. Friends help each other out and try their best to do well in classes. They want As together not 1 A and 1 D+ and laugh in their faces. My friends and I also help each other build on resume (help find lab jobs and stuff and it works lol) and stuff so we have better chances of going to med school even though they will be tough competition during the selection stage.

nvm...should have read the posts first...

Engineering is not cut-throat. If anything, it's more corroborative than other schools because the amount of work often times forces you to work together with others. In labs and projects, you basically required to work with other people.

of course it can be cutthroat...there will always be people who **** up the curve for the rest of us :D

Engineering is not cut throat - it's competitive in that some of the people in your classes is the best and brightest, but not cut throat. And most people choose to stay away from the few really intense people here. The profs in engineering know that it is tough and that's why they highly recommend groupwork. In some classes, if you don't collaborate, you will pretty much fail the class.
