I got into Colby College in Maine and Case Western, and I plan to do pre-med. The cost will be about the same, and I like Colby’s vibe more, but I heard that Case Western has more of a reputation with premed. However, I am not 100% committed to taking the premed track yet, so which would be a better choice?
It doesn’t matter which school you go to. If you like Colby better, go to Colby. You should be able to take the Pre-requisite courses to apply to medical school anywhere.
Since you are undecided about pre-med, then go to the school you prefer if you decide against pre-med since you are unable to select one as an intended pre-med student.
If you like the vibe at Colby, go there. It certainly won’t impair your med school chances, and regardless of the direction you choose, you will be happy with your four years. Put differently, both paths can lead to the same destination – pick the journey you prefer to get there.
If you are serious about premed, consider CWRU. It’s really close to Cleveland Clinic and Ohio is the epicenter of biomedical companies, so you’d be in a really really good location. Consider it! What did you choose?
