CWRU vs Northeastern vs RPI

Hey everyone I’m currently a graduating high-schooler and completely lost as to where to submit a deposit.

I’ve mostly narrowed my choices down to CWRU Northeastern and RPI and I want to study some form of engineering, but past that I don’t really have any specifications. Money isn’t a problem as i’ve gotten good scholarships to all 3, so I’m mostly looking for a good school that will (hopefully) help me get into a better graduate school or where I can go for a PhD if I go for the 5 year BS/MS a few of them offer.

I’ve lived in Florida my whole life, not too far from a city, in case that matters for getting accustomed to the new college.

Any advice on the 3 from experience or a way to narrow out one of them would be greatly appreciated!

RPI’s recognized strengths relate to engineering:

RPI would be the best choice strictly on engineering, but all three are strong in the area. The schools are pretty different beyond academics though, so consider things like location, social environment, gender ratio, etc.

As mentioned, RPI is probably the most recognized of the three in terms of engineering, and it has the option of MS with an extra year (co-term) [though you have to have good grades to get into that]. Has a high reputation in the industry and students go on to top grad schools as well. The school has a “nerdy” student body in general but there are all types. M/F ratio is 70/30, though this isn’t as big of a problem as it’s purported to be. (My D goes there.) Academics are tough but you come out knowing your stuff. Downtown Troy near the university is nice (has improved much in recent years).

CWRU and NU both have the advantage of being in a large city if that’s important to you, a more balanced gender ratio.
