D in AP Calculus AB Senior Year First Semester

Hey guys here are my senior grades:
AP Physics C: 81% B
AP French: 91.2% A
Economics: 90.2% A
AP Literature: 88.2% B
AP Calculus AB: 68.36% D+
GPA: 3.8

Past GPA’s (1st Sem/2nd Sem):
FRESHMAN: (3.87/4.03)
Sophomore: (4.11/4.11)
Junior: (3.73/3.4)
This is the first D i have ever received in a class and I am worried about getting any of my acceptances rescinded. (UCSD,UCR,UCI,UCSB,Cal State Fullerton & Long Beach, Cal Poly Slo & Pomona) I planned Engineering major and business majors between these schools.
We’re approaching the last week until grades are finalized and report cards are sent out. This calc class was really hard for me because she would teach us the basic concept and we would do those book problems, then her tests have a lot more complex problems. Her final was pretty difficult. the highest score was a D and only 4 people got D’s everyone else got an F. I ended up getting a 55/100. I’m now at a 68% and already spoke to my teacher and she is firm on not changing my grade. Has this ruined my chances of getting into the colleges I applied for since Calc is really important for engineering? What can I do to fix this? Is it possible to drop?

If your grade ends up in a D, you need to contact the UC’s and Cal States.

Yes, a D could result in your acceptance being rescinded but it is better to find out your options now than later after you have accepted and enrolled in a college.

For the UC’s:
Freshmen: If you change schools, add or drop a course, or fail to earn a C or better in a course after you submit your application, you must notify the UC Application Center by email or postal mail. Your correspondence must include your name, UC Application ID number and your signature (if you mail a letter), and will be available to all the campuses to which you applied.

If you receive an offer of admission, be sure to confirm with the campus admission office that they are aware of the deficient grade or schedule changes. Although you must notify the campus of these changes, we cannot guarantee that a campus can go back to review an application after correspondence has been received. Make sure to save a copy of your correspondence just in case.

For the Cal States, you would need to contact all individually.

Some schools may wait until your final grade at the end of 2nd semester before making a decision on your status, or some may offer you a chance to retake during the summer and some may let it slide if you have already completed the minimum course requirements.

You want to be proactive now to make sure you will have some choices come May 1.

Best of luck.
