I'm just curious as to how many are bold enough to do this (D1 sport + pre-med)...any takers?

Technically all the Harvard sports are D1 and we have plenty of premed athletes (I technically fit that description for a year). It's not that bad, you have 6-7 hours a day of commitment, but you don't do other ECs and everything works out.

I have a really good friend who was a D1 decathlete in college and is currently studying for Step 1, and one of the girls in my medical school class played D1 volleyball (at a perennial top 5 program).

I know a handful of other people who played D1 football too (at Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas State - not some podunk directional schools). One of the anesthesia residents at my school played offensive line for 4 years in the NFL, long enough to get his NFL pension.

Nice...I'm planning on only doing this + an academic club so it's good to know things can still work out.
