hey folks…
one thing that i’ve sorta noticed is that there aren’t too many ladies on our forum, whats the deal? Last year Harvard accepted more females than males, but that number is not being reflected in our forum…or maybe im wrong :)

Girls who can get into Harvard have such amazing minds and personalities that they're in too high of a demand from the guys to have the time to visit us.

Clearly. ;)

I think it is the tone of this forum. I've been reading this forum for a couple of years now, and the most common type of person to post here is a stressed-out teenage male asking "What are my chances? or its variant "Am I on the right track?"" The second most common question is probably "Are Harvard students unhappy?" This gets asked by both males and females. But in either case these are not questions that promote an interesting, lively, female-friendly forum.

BTW, my perpetual answers to those two questions are: 1) I don't know your chances nor does anyone else posting here. And 2) most all the Harvard students I know are working very hard, but are very happy to be there and are enjoying their college experience immensely.

that's quite an analyzation you have there, coureur.

One word: sausagefest.

Wasn't last year also the first year that Harvard ever accepted more females than males? Not that that answers your question, but it seemed relevant.. in my head...

Honestly I think it's the whole lack-of-community feel. This forum does have a rather edgy, competitive feeling to it in comparison to the others..maybe girls are intimidated (I know I am). Post your pic and maybe they'll come running =)

lol, i dont know if they would COME running as much as they would LEAVE running :) hehe, j/k....so tell us more bout urself snuff

how can you tell? i can't from just reading most people's posts....

Hahahha... I'm sure that wouldn't be the case. Well, what would you like to know?

You can tell either by their name or their language...usually... I don't know, I can just sense it most of the time.

Oh, well, I do get ideas of what people might be, but I can't trust myself on such things.

what would i like to know? hmmm....well, for starters- whats a girl like you doing in a place like this? :) wink:wink

lol... looks like someones trying to turn the harvard forum into a "hot-singles" forum :D

well, it wouldn't hurt knowing a person or two on campus before you get there....lol...u need not worry tupacalipse, my intentions are noble :)

I'm a girl.

Hi all... I suppose I've been lurking because I don't want to get too attached to all of you and then be rejected come December...

But no more! I think we have a duty to have fun on this forum and bond. lol, the hot singles forum of wannabe Harvard students. We should play some get-to-know-each-other games.

By the way, I'm a girl. I don't think I'm intimidated (except maybe by the Math 2-c thread

yes.....games!
lol

I'm a girl too :).

im not a girl but... this is the internet so i can be anything you want big boi ;)

Elizabeth, fancy seeing you here. ;)

We're traitors!

well, lets see....I'm 5'10 170 lbs...male from los angeles, california. brown hair, brown eyes...i like long walks on the beach :) i would honestly have to say that the single most attractive thing about a girl is if shes intelligent (guess i'm in the right board). having great conversation skills is ALWAYS a plus...so if this is you, don't be afraid to hit me up at "the Yard" hehe :)

my idea gf would be either natalie portman (harvard grad:) ) or mandy moore....i'm a sucker for the brunette, girl-nextdoor innocent/sweet type...but don't let the exterior fool ya, i like my girls opinionated and strong! any takers ladies? :)
