Whats the Naval Academy's policy post DADT repeal?

My dad's a Marine and my grandfather was Navy and as the only son (my older sister is in fashion school aka very uninterested in military service) I'd like to continue the tradition.

I’m assuming that by asking the question you’re thinking of coming out as gay. Don’t. DADT is still in effect and while they’re not discharging sailors because of asking or telling, they don’t need to provide any reason when they do not give you an appointment.

Once a member of the Brigade you’ll be fine. My Mid said everybody knows who’s gay and who’s not - and it makes no difference.

But more importantly, do you want to be a Naval Officer? Or study environmental sciences? The NA does not have that major. The goal is to prepare you to lead. What field you study is secondary.

BTW: you can ignore WP and his rant, the rest of us do.
