The Golden State Warrriors battled their way into the 2007 NBA playoffs. They warded off the Clippers to get into the playoffs(which was no surprise to me), but more surprisingly they trumped the No. 1 seed--the Dallas Mavericks.

Why did the Mavericks--with a 67-15 record- fail to make the grade in the NBA playoffs? Is Nowitzki to blame?

DAl couldnt handle the fast pace and quickness of GSW. They play alot of small ball and Dal dont have the big man to dominate the paint. If Dal had someone like d.howard or okafor, then the series would be 4-0 easily. Oh yeah, b.diddy is the man and the game play is really spordaic and exciting. They went three crazy every game :p. Dirk shoulda play more post up instead of settling for jumpers...

^ You're from Michigan and you're rooting for the Cavs

Anyway, Dallas had to play a jump-shooting/guard penetration game, which golden state is obviously better at, because they didn't have a good enough inside presence which would have worked well against Golden State (a la Boozer).

Speaking of old playoff news, no one has a right to complain about their team's playoff's woes to Wizards fans. How can a team lose both of it's two best players the week before the playoffs started :(:(:(

GSW won because... Dallas played like crap?

They don't have that many dangerous guys - it's just Dirk and Terry. Terry was horrible this series and produced next to nothing. No shooting, distributing or anything. So Dirk had to do a lot of the shooting, and they put 6'8" defenders on him the whole time, double teamed him when he wanted to drive. They made life hard for him, and it showed. Plus he didn't have that much killer instinct to start with.

And that's about all. Howard gets points and rebounds, but can't do as much by himself when the rest aren't playing bad. Devin Harris is still young and under-used. Stack should have retired.

Perfect storm by GSW too, with Davis, Richardson, and Jackson having amazing games.

Miami fans get to complain. What, Shaq was out the first half the season, Wade the other half. Riley was out for a couple months. J Will missed a bunch of games, and so did a bunch of others. That's life when it comes to injuries.

Huge mavs fan here. I was a ballkid last year and was there live when we lost game 6 against the Heat. I thought for sure we'd get vindiction this year. The mavs are gonna make me an alcoholic at an early age.

"^ You're from Michigan and you're rooting for the Cavs"

I dont know how to do that "quote"thing. Im not from Michigan.. Its just a screen name because I like the wolerine and the UC(california). I was a big UM fan before i got rejected :(. Anyways my bad on the misunderstanding.

On the other hand, I feel bad for PHO. Because they are my fav plus i believe they had the best team. I mean Nash(who deserve the MVP), Amare, Marion, Bell, and barb = awesome combo

Well UcMichigan the Suns successfully pulverized the Lakers! Nash should be the MVP. He is one of the least selfish players out there and he works hard to help his team win. The only Suns game I went to was against the Lakers last season and I was extremely disappointed that Nash didn't play..I wanted to see him square off against Kobe.

Warriors won because Avery Johnson is Don Nelson's deciple.. you know what i mean? They got the right coach playing against the right team. That's life - it's unexpected.

Anyways too late to post this thread. The topic now should be Spurs owning Cavs.

Hey nba7girl, we are right about Nash being MVP this year. I guess the league didnt want the same person to win three years in a row :(. Ohyeah, I saw Nash here in Memphis and I think i was the only person including my friends excited to see Nash crush our team :p. Anyways, My friend got his autograph while i was trying to get Amare (didnt work :()......

Lets switch this thread to Spurs-Cavs now instead of Dal-Gsw

I think Cavs have a chance if Lebron pulls in 40+ a night against the Bowen and the Spurs' D (unlikely) But The cavs need to find someone to play straight up with Duncan since they got Parker and f****** Ginobili. For some reason i hate that dude.

The Cavs need to do alot of offseason trades to improve their team. Like trading away Gooden and Pavlovic.

No doubt that Nowitzki did an excellent job in the regular season. Even though it was a disappointment in the playoffs, afterall the MVP is the season MVP not the Playoffs Finals MVP, so that's why Dirk still has it!

I'd say Duncan going for his 4th Finals MVP. :)
