Anyone know of a good website where I can order some jazz shoes/pants for a decent price for a guy. Thanks!

www.discountdance.com

my sister uses that all the time.

Another good site is http://www.dancedistributors.com

They are in PA & shipping is a bit quicker for the east coast than Discount Dance, which is located in CA. Prices are about the same, with Discount Dance having a slight price edge.

Men's dancewear is a bit tough to find, but these two sites should have the best selection.

Try Discount Dance Supply....you can order online. They have a wide selection and good prices.

EDIT....sorry, I had not seen the previous replies when I posted.

Can someone please explain to me the point of a dance belt?!

A dance belt is a crucial piece of equipment for a male dancer, esp. for ballet. Tights leave nothing to the imagination. Think of it as a jock strap, lol. You don't want to be doing jetes without one. Ouch.

You can also try www.riversedgedancewear.com They have a very knowledgeable staff.

Are they a necessity (sp?!)- I can deal with the jazz pants and shoes a t-shirt but I'd rather be dancing in some boxer-briefs to be blunt

I doubt if boxer-briefs would be acceptable in most classes. And if you are looking ahead to college auditions, you most likely would want the jazz pants for those, so might as well get them now, and start to get comfy in them.

(Good job on spelling necessity, by the way!)

My thought is-how will they know what you're wearing under jazz pants. The problem I have is I'm not comfortable with my body so I don't do tights-I'm more of a loose fit jazz pant type of guy

Also, I can't find any without a thong back-any real guy-would know-thongs arent cool.

Here's a non-thong dance belt:

I can't vouch for this product but my son considered it at one time.
He decided to "grin and bare" the more traditional thong. :)

ohernjr8 - you will need to get a dance belt sooner or later if you plan on going to college for MT and do any sort of dance/movement classes. They are very useful, though they can sometimes be uncomfortable at first - primarily, they keep your junk in place. Which is something that boxers/underwear/boxer-briefs will NOT do under tights and usually jazz pants. Also, it eliminates most lines (the thong-backed ones), while boxers will leave everything from your hips to 6 or 7 inches down all ruffled and not attractive-looking at all.

Thong-backed dance belts are not THAT bad. The only reason why you could really feel uncomfortable in them is if you have like a weak tailbone, because then it might seem to dig in a bit. Otherwise, you'll get over the thong feeling in a couple days at most.
