Then, apply to Calvin College. The acceptance rate is 98%. haha

My ultimate nightmare is gettng rejected from JHU.

that's actually highly likely...looking at ur SATs..which proved that your grades are severely inflated

I know. And my grades aren't inflated, I just freaked out during the test. Everything else of mine is good though. I'm very artistic (everywhere on my application), I figure skate, I have 600+ community service, I hve great essays and recs, and I have a lot of leadership positions in my ECs. And since JHU has a holistic approach and I applied ED, maybe, just maybe, I'll get in.

I'll find out in 11 days.

I applied to 5 Cal States so I'd still have a choice if I don't get into any UC school and I've already been accepted to 3 of them, so at least I know I'm going to college and someone wants me!

Dont worry! You could always go to Western Carolina :) No really, it's better to not worry, it doesn't do you any good!

Just in case though... haha.

www.wcu.edu

"Fear is your friend," or so a psychiatrist told me once. That's why you applied to backups. Your Plan B is exactly the right thing to do. Have some mental alternatives ready to go with if that becomes necessary. And some schools have later deadlijes than the average selective school - Gettysburg for example. You will be fine.

My dad and friend proved to me by probability that there was no way I can't be rejected from all of my 16 schools but my pessimistic side still surfaces....

You are right to be pessimistic, I think. Unless the probability of being admitted to atleast one of your 16 schools is 1, you should not believe what your dad and a friend "proved" to you.

But still... 16?!?!

I'm planning on only 6...

Look, just get more safety schools! You're been in for sure! there's always branch campuses..

Chill. There is a much greater chance of you getting into a college of your choice, doing well or very well there, and then not getting a job or else struggling in your career. And you're not sitting there worrying about that, are you? You will get in. You sound like a solid candidate. All will be well, and if by a fluke it isn't, you can cross that bridge then- you will still have a number of options as people here have suggested.

I can finally stop worrying! I just received WPI admission decision. Got a merit scholarship, too!

Congrats!

The advice is to have a plan with respect to college admissions, since by default it is selective, and don't put all your eggs in one basket. Have a back up so there's less stress. Early admission plans should reduce stress...rather than induce it.

In anycase, good job with the merit scholarship too. :)

Thanks, IsleBoy.

I'm in 5 out of 10 of my schools. But still no money from anybody. :(
