Dartmouth and Early Decision Question

Perhaps it's posted elsewhere, but I was wondering whether Dartmouth gives preference for applicants who apply ED. I know the acceptance rate is nearly double for ED, but isn't that skewed simply because athletes are in the pool?
And a random question: if you submit an arts supplement and it doesn't get a favorable evaluation, does it hurt?
Thanks so much guys

Well, for the first question, they say, on the website, that they don't prefer it if you apply ED and they won't give you an advantage. That is crap. Even though a large chunk of EDers are legacy, recruited athletes, ect., your chances still get boosted slightly. Not a lot, but for those lucky few, enough to tip them over the edge.

For the second question, if you are that confortable with your art to send it in, I am sure it will be good enough to impress them slightly. I doubt that sending in an "ugly" piece of art will not hurt your chances, but it won't hwlp them at all. I say, send in thw work.
